About the project

Connecting culture, creativity and citizenship

Youth Rhythms for Living Heritage positions young people as active creators and ambassadors of living heritage, using creativity, digital storytelling, arts and intercultural dialogue to connect cultural heritage with active citizenship, inclusion and youth work innovation.

Our approach
Heritage as a living, breathing practice

We believe that cultural heritage is not a relic — it is alive in the communities, traditions and stories of young people across Europe. This project makes that heritage visible, transferable and celebrated.

1
Intercultural dialogue
Foster mutual recognition among young people from Malta, Türkiye and Serbia through shared heritage experiences.
2
Creative and digital methodologies
Empower youth workers with digital storytelling, podcasting, and creative facilitation rooted in living heritage.
3
Transferable outputs
Produce an open-access methodological toolkit and digital skills library published under Creative Commons.
4
Heritage for inclusion
Promote living heritage as a resource for citizenship, inclusion and sustainability — especially for young people with fewer opportunities.

From Türkiye

Traditional Motifs

Woven into carpets and textiles across centuries, the traditional motifs of Türkiye are a living language of meaning. Each symbol tells a story: the Ram’s Horn channels heroic strength; the Amulet wards off the evil eye; the Fetter binds families in devotion; Hands on Hips honours feminine power; Bereket celebrates the harvest; the Comb signals new beginnings; the Tree of Life unites past and future; and Love and Harmony captures two souls becoming one. These motifs are not mere decoration — they are heritage made visible.
